Industrial lens is a key component in the machine vision program, which consists of two parts: the optical system and the mechanical device, usually with the light source, the camera and other core optical devices work together, widely used in industrial inspection, precise positioning, feature recognition and data acquisition and other fields. For novices, understanding the parameters of industrial lenses is an important prerequisite for selection.

(1) The focal length determines the size and distance of the lens image, the longer the focal length, the larger the image, but the field of view will become smaller; the shorter the focal length, the smaller the image, the field of view is larger.

(2) Aperture range affects the amount of light into the lens, the larger the aperture, the greater the amount of light into the dark light environment can also get a clear image, but the depth of field will become shallow.

(3) Resolution represents the ability of the lens to distinguish the details of the object, the higher the resolution, the clearer the image, the better able to capture the tiny features.

(4) Sensor size needs to be matched with the camera, if the sensor size supported by the lens is smaller than the sensor size of the camera, black edges will appear on the edges of the image;

(5) The field of view is the range of vision that the lens can cover, the larger the field of view, the wider the area that can be observed;

(6) Interface type determines the connection between the lens and the camera, you need to ensure that the two interfaces are compatible.

In the selection, in addition to focusing on these parameters, but also need to clarify the actual use and the desired effect. For example, if you want to carry out a wide range of detection, you need to choose a large field of view, short focal length of the lens; if you want to capture high-speed movement of the object, the resolution and aperture range requirements will be higher.
