Testing Background:

The customer provided lily pollen with an average particle size of just 0.2 μm. The pollen is pale yellow, ellipsoidal in shape, and consists of uniform particles with no clumping.

To enable the AI model to distinguish between different types of pollen, the training data must cover two scales: aggregate density distribution and individual particle morphology.

Challenges in Testing:

This presents a seemingly contradictory challenge for the lens system: it must clearly capture the aggregation patterns of pollen within a 2mm field of view while also resolving sub-micron-level particle details within that small field of view.

Standard ZOOM LENSes currently available on the market are not sufficiently optically matched to 4K cameras, resulting in low pixel utilization and resolution that falls short of the standards required by the training data.

Testing Protocol:

4K camera + 1x extension tube + 12.5x ZOOM LENS + 10x APO objective lens. The APO objective lens eliminates chromatic aberration, while the 12.5x ZOOM LENS provides a seamless transition between low- and high-magnification fields of view. The 1x extension tube ensures optical alignment with the 4K sensor, guaranteeing that every pixel is effectively utilized.

Test Method:

Place the lily pollen sample on a glass slide, adjust the working distance and focus, and then set the magnification to complete the entire examination process. At low magnification, the distribution of the pollen clusters is clearly visible, with distinct boundaries between the grains; when switching to high magnification, the contours of individual ellipsoids are sharp, with no noticeable chromatic aberration at the edges, and colors are reproduced accurately.

Advantages of the Solution:

1. High resolution, no color fringing, and clear image across the entire field of view

2. Distinct groupings at low magnification, minimal distortion at high magnification, and smooth zoom adjustment

3. Consistent magnification across all points on the objective side, enabling more accurate measurement of particle size, circumference, and area

4. Moderate working distance for easy operation

5. True-to-life colors, sharp edges, and no noticeable chromatic aberration
