Background of the Proposal:
The client is an eyewear manufacturer whose factory produces a wide variety of frames. To ensure that every pair of glasses is dimensionally accurate and fits comfortably, the company must produce a large number of high-precision molds. The consistency in the precision of these molds directly affects the quality of the frame components. Therefore, the CNC mold machining shop must conduct rigorous daily inspections on molds of various specifications.

Challenges of the Plan
The molds produced in the workshop are mostly one-off items and come in a wide variety. Traditional inspection methods relying on 2D imaging systems are inefficient and slow, making it difficult to meet the demands of large-scale production. The customer is looking to introduce equipment that allows for rapid programming, offers high inspection efficiency, and meets the required measurement accuracy.
Solution

To meet the customer’s needs, we recommended the POMEAS IMAGE3 PRO-H image dimension measuring system, which utilizes its stitching measurement capability. Operators simply place the frame on the measuring platform and press a button to quickly measure key dimensional data—such as rectangular and circular holes, as well as positional accuracy—with precision down to the micron level.

Test Results (Eyeglass Frame Molds)

By comparing the measurement times of the one-click measuring instrument with those of the customer’s existing on-site equipment, we found that the IMAGE3 PRO-H significantly improved inspection efficiency. Additionally, the device’s accuracy and stability were thoroughly validated through repeatability testing, which involved taking 10 measurements with the product stationary and another 10 measurements after repeatedly repositioning the product. The results fully met the customer’s high-precision inspection requirements.
